"Life can be a series of challenges or opportunities depending on how you approach it. As you enter adulthood, how have you conquered a difficult task to turn it into an opportunity? As part of your essay, please explain the significance of your creative presentation to your journey with CF."

We all know the famous line, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." The question is, what does that really mean? Are you suppose to accept what life gives you with a smile? Are you suppose to fight every day for something better? Life gave me Cystic Fibrosis, so what was I suppose to do with that? My CF has been the ultimate teacher and motivator. The disease has taught me dedication, responsibility, and how to live life to the fullest. Having a positive mental attitude toward life has helped me relish the obstacles put in my way and strive for a better and healthier life. Although the disease is compounded with daily fights, I have approached these challenges as opportunities. The difficult task of having a constant presence of CF in my life has given me the chance to embrace what it really means to make the most of each day. CF has pushed me to succeed not only medically, but overall as a person. Despite the daily rigor put in to dealing with my health, I have stayed very dedicated to my studies as well. Growing up surrounded with treatments, medicines, and hospitals has taught me the significance of having a committed and passionate Care Team, which has inspired me to go to Physician Assistant school. In the future I am excited to treat, care for, and empower my patients to thrive in a healthy life as my doctors have done for me to make life extraordinarily satisfying.
