"As you pursue your dreams of higher education, describe what changes you would like to see in the CF community. What steps would you take to initiate these changes?"

Although the CF Community is a great resource of information and people there are some changes that can be instilled for greater success. I have noticed over the years whether it is from a CF related Facebook pages, online forums etc., while there is a lot of knowledge, there is also a lot of negativity. Many people take this space to vent, complain or even ask for advice and are met with nasty comments, wrong information and too many negatives compared to positives. As a young woman with CF, there are many questions over the years I have wondered about that I haven’t found a safe place on the internet to ask. Whether it be career advice, school life, relationship advice or even how different medicines have worked for other people, this is something all young people with Cystic Fibrosis should have access to. To initiate this I would take the time to find a nice well-rounded group of individuals with CF who have experienced different aspects of life and are willing to give advice and positive messages regarding these subjects. I know there are many foundation pages with advice from doctors and experts, but I believe life experiences from other young adults with CF would be very helpful especially for the newer generations of people with CF. Only other individuals with CF can really understand going through life with this disease and this would be a great idea to make it easier to find advise.
