"As you pursue your dreams of higher education, describe what changes you would like to see in the CF community. What steps would you take to initiate these changes?"

As I pursue my educational goals I want to help make a difference in the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) community by impacting the teenage population. One of the biggest problems in the CF community is teenagers not having the desire to take care of themselves or not wanting to continue with the CF battle. I want to help them to understand that there is more to life than just doing treatments, taking pills and waiting to die. I believe I have had a positive experience in my life dealing with CF. I look at CF as a challenge and opportunity to live as full a life as I can. To share my philosophy about CF, I would like to become a motivational speaker. I believe that I have a positive story that may help my peers see there is good in the world and want to strive to have a healthy, positive life. As of now I am enrolled at North Idaho College to pursue a degree to help me share my CF story. My long term goal as a motivational speaker is to have CF fighters around the United States want to listen and hear my story. I want to be the one who helps them find a passion or help set a goal they would like to achieve in their life. I want to help them live a positive life. I want them to never give up.
