"As you pursue your dreams of higher education, describe what changes you would like to see in the CF community. What steps would you take to initiate these changes?"

As I pursue my college education with great hopes in mind, I am reminded of how helpful and supportive the CF community is around me. My doctors help with any need I may have and are excited to help me create a better life for myself. As I am moving out into the world on my own more, I would like to communicate what having CF has been like for me and my life growing up. I want to share with people more information about the disease and what hopes we can see for it in the future. In the public speaking classes I have taken, I have shared and done speeches focusing on my life with Cystic Fibrosis. I get continual good feedback and questions about Cystic Fibrosis that I am always happy to answer. I want the CF community to share more of their experiences that have come along with this disease and I will definitely continue to do this. To open peoples eyes to life with this disease and that it doesn't have to be all bad unless you make it that way. I want others to be interested in CF and see how many of us experience different paths in regards to CF. I will continue to do public speeches regarding my disease as well as use my treatment equipment for visuals. I want to make CF kids and society see that sharing about the disease has kept me a healthier person.
